Coverage: The coverage provides traditional, full mortality for death from natural causes or humane destruction as a result of a life-threatening injury. The endorsement for Accident, Sickness & Disease Infertility provides coverage in the event of permanent impotency, infertility or the bulls inability to naturally service cows as a result of an accident, sickness or disease sustained during the policy.
Option 1 
Bull Mortality and Infertility Coverage

Values: Not to exceed purchase price

Term: Renewable 6 month or 1 year policy term for bulls
6 months to 7 years of age

Premium: 10.3% of the purchase price - 1 year policy term
                       11.3% of the purchase price - ND, SD and NE residents only
                       6.75% of the purchase price - 6 month policy term - ALL STATES

Minimum: $200 minimum per animal

Testing: All bulls must be tested, certified & listed in the official herd sale catalog.

Mortality Payout: 100% of the value of the bull in the event of death or humane destruction as a result of a life-threatening injury. 

Accident, Sickness & Disease Infertility: (Winter Freeze & Frostbite Covered) 80% of the value of the bull, less salvage value, in the event of permanent impotency, infertility or being incapable of serving females as a result of an accident, illness or disease sustained during policy period.
  • Testing- The animal must pass a BSE and Health exam unless bound the date of the auction.
  • Special Rates apply for Stud Bulls that don’t breed live cattle.
Option 2
Bull Mortality and Infertility Coverage

Values: Not to exceed purchase price

Term: Renewable 6 month or 1 year policy term for bulls 6 months to 7 years of age

Premium: 12.3% of the purchase price - 1 year policy term
                       12.8% of the purchase price - ND, SD and NE residents only
                       8.5% of the purchase price - 6 month policy term - ALL STATES

Minimum: $200 minimum per animal

Testing: All bulls must be tested, certified & listed in the official herd sale catalog.

Mortality Payout: 100% of the value of the bull in the event of death or
humane destruction as a result of a life-threatening injury.

Mortality Only Coverage: Rate - 5.8% of purchase price -1 year policy term | Rate - 3.5% of purchase price - 6 month policy term.
Mortality Payout: 100% of the value of the bull in the event of death or humane destruction as a result of a life-threatening injury.

  • Veterinarian examination required on cattle $50,000 +, 7 years of age and older and show steers valued at $25,000 + unless bound the date of the auction.
Semen Suitability Endorsement: Rate 3% additional to options 1, 2 or 3. A new and exciting endorsement people have been talking about! This policy will pay in the event the bull becomes totally and permanently unable to produce semen that will freeze in liquid nitrogen. Once a bull freezes a straw of semen in liquid nitrogen, we can then insure the bull in case he quits freezing within the policy period to better eliminate the risk to you the insured.
